SCLS periodically publishes "Workstation Status Reports." These reports provide a list of a library's SCLS-supported PCs with information about their ages, hardware specs, and Operating System (OS) information. Workstation Status Reports can be found here and are really just a snapshot in time.
What if you need current, updated information from SCLS about your library PCs? You have 2 options:
- Call the Help Desk and request a current Workstation Status Report (we're always happy to make you a "fresh" one!)
- You can look it up online with the SCLS Network Thing!
What is the SCLS Network Thing?
The SCLS Network Thing site provides a simple interface to selected portions of the Help Desk systems database that tracks SCLS Network PCs and other devices. We're using it for libraries in the Partnership Program to report their changes. But all libraries can easily look up their PCs (all the ones that we have inventoried) and see information about the PCs' hardware and software configurations.
It's easy to log on-- simply use the same credentials as you would use to access protected portions of the SCLS website. If you don't know what those are, you can call the Help Desk for assistance.
