Presented on November 15, 2018 with Emily Pfotenhauer, WiLS, presenting
Digitizing libraries’ local history materials is important for preservation purposes and as a means to make the materials more discoverable and accessible. Digitized versions of materials can be made available easily to researchers, students, and anyone with an interest in local history through websites like Recollection Wisconsin and the Digital Public Library of America. This session will include information on how digitization projects can benefit the library and its patrons, general digitization project workflows and ideas for encouraging use of digital collections, as well as an overview of digitization resources available to SCLS members.
