Input sought on health information for the elderly and their caregivers
SCLS has applied for a 2009 LSTA grant called “Health Information for Elderly and Caregivers.” Input from member librarians will help us design workshops on health information resources for public libraries, specifically geared toward health information needs of the elderly and their caregivers.
To make this project as effective as possible, please take a moment before Dec. 15, 2008, to complete the online survey.
SCLS is looking for feedback on its draft staff technology strategies that are designed to help SCLS technology staff provide good service, and guide decision making and project planning.
We wanted to give all of the SCLS libraries a chance to see and react to the strategies before we make them "official,” so your feedback is appreciated! You can leave comments on the SCLS Technology Blog (use the link at the end of this article, or contact Stef Morrill directly.
Notes from the October 2008 meeting of the technology committee are now available.

Sign up now for WLA Library legislative Day
Library Legislative Day, sponsored by the Wisconsin Library Association (WLA) and the Wisconsin Educational Media & Technology Association (WEMTA), will be held Tuesday, Feb. 3, beginning at 7:45 a.m. Be sure to pass the word, and let people know that they don’t need to be a WLA member to attend.
This is a great opportunity to learn a little more about legislative issues impacting libraries, to meet with state legislators and their staffs, and to let them know how much you value the services and resources libraries provide.
More information about the day is available on the WLA website, as is the agenda. The website includes online registration (or a downloadable registration form), a link for Virtual Library Legislative Day participation, background information on legislative issues, and information about the Inn on the Park.
