SCLS Delivery cancelations, 3/9/11

SCLS Delivery has canceled all morning routes for Wednesday, 3/9/11, due to heavy, wet snow.  At this point (6:20 AM), we will monitor conditions and determine if we can run some limited routes to Dane County libraries later today.  We will let Dane County libraries know what we decide later this morning.

We hope to resume our normal delivery schedule on Thursday the 10th. 

SCLS Delivery Service cancellations - 2/21/11

Icy and snowy conditions have led to the cancellation of a few SCLS Delivery routes for Monday, February 21st.  The following routes have been called off:

Western Wisconsin (Eau Claire, Menomonie, River Falls, La Crosse, Richland Center) : entire route cancelled.

Northeast Wisconsin (Fond du Lac, Sheboygan, Manitowoc, Green Bay, Appleton, Oshkosh, Ripon): entire route cancelled.

Central Wisconsin (Adams, Woood, and Portage County): entire route cancelled. 

All other routes are running as normal as of 6:30 AM, although they may be delayed due to the road conditions.  We will send out e-mails and update the blog throughout the day if there are any further cancellations.

SCLS Delivery cancellations - 2/17/11

Due to heavy fog in the southwest portion of the state, SCLS Delivery will be cancelling delivery to the Southwest Wisconsin Library System in Fennimore and UW-Platteville in Platteville on Thursday, 2/17.  We intend to resume normal delivery schedules on Friday.

SCLS Delivery Service cancellations - 2/2/11

Due to the continuing blizzard conditions, SCLS Delivery will be closed and all routes are cancelled for Wednesday, February 2, 2011.  We hope to resume our normal delivery schedule on Thursday the 3rd.

 

SCLS Delivery Service cancellations - 2/1/11

Due to the snow that fell overnight and the windy conditions, SCLS Delivery has cancelled most of our routes for Tuesday, February 1st.  All statewide intersystem routes and SCLS local routes outside of Dane county have all been called off for the day.

SCLS will continue to monitor conditions and determine if there is a sufficient window of clear weather to run routes to Dane County and Madison Public Library stops sometime in the late morning/early afternoon before the snow starts again.  We will provide further updates after this call is made.

SCLS Delivery cancellations and preparations - 1/31/11

Due to the snow that is now starting to fall across Wisconsin, SCLS Delivery has cancelled the following routes and stops for Monday, 1/31/11:

Western Wisconsin route: all stops cancelled.  No stops in Eau Claire, Menominee, River Falls, La Crosse, or Richland Center.

Northeast Wisconsin: all stops in Sheboygan and Manitowoc cancelled.

Update, 11 AM:

• all stops in Green Bay and De Pere are cancelled.
• stops at Rosholt and Amherst PL are cancelled.

Winter storm preparations - 2/1 + 2/2 

The snow is expected to cause severe problems on both Tuesday and Wednesday (2/1 + 2/2).  At this point (7:30 AM Monday), SCLS Delivery is assuming that we will likely not be able to run routes on Tuesday or Wednesday.  Our hope is that road conditions will improve enough that we can return to our normal delivery schedule on Thursday the 3rd.  We may not have anyone coming in to send out e-mails over the next couple of days, so we recommend that you check the SCLS Delivery Service blog (http://scls.typepad.com/delivery/) for the latest updates on route cancellations or changes throughout the week.  You can also call our general phone line at 608-266-6039.  Bruce Smith will be changing our outgoing voicemail message on that line with updated closing information.

Staff will be available throughout the day on Monday, so please contact us if you have any questions or concerns.  We apologize in advance for the disruption these cancellations and potential cancellations may cause, but this is shaping up to be a major winter storm.

Delivery canceled - 12/31/10

Due to heavy fog this morning, SCLS Delivery will be canceling all delivery routes for Friday, December 31st.  We will resume our normal delivery schedule on Monday, 1/3/11.

SCLS Delivery cancellations - 2/9/10

Continuing snowfall with anticipation of blowing and drifting snow has led to cancellation of several SCLS Delivery routes for Tuesday, February 9th.  The following routes are completely canceled:

• Northeast WI route: stops in Fond du Lac, Manitowoc, Sheboygan, Two Rivers, Green Bay, Appleton, and Oshkosh
• Southeast WI route: stops in Waukesha, Milwaukee, Kenosha, Waterford, Whitewater, and Janesville
• Western WI route: stops in Eau Claire, Menomonie, River Falls, La Crosse, and Richland Center
• Central WI route: stops in Adams County, Portage County, and Wood County

We will provide further updates to any other effected stops via e-mail as we continue to monitor weather conditions.  We plan to resume our normal route schedule on Wednesday, the 10th.

SCLS Delivery cancelations - 12/14/09

Due to heavy snow on top of icy roads, SCLS Delivery will be canceling delivery to the following stops this afternoon, Monday, 12/14/09:

• Lawrence University, Outagamie-Waupaca Library System, and UW-Fox Valley in Appleton
• Rosholt Public Library, Rosholt School District, and Amherst Public Library in Portage County

We will provide further e-mail updates to any additional stops that need to be canceled.

SCLS Delivery closed - 12/9/09

SCLS Delivery will be closed on Wednesday, 12/9/09 due to the large amount of snow that fell overnight and the windy conditions continuing today.  We hope to resume service on Thursday the 10th, and we will provide further updates as our schedule is finalized.
