A brief (hopefully) clarification for anyone who subscribes to the RSS feed provided by FeedBlitz. The Feedblitz service crawls the "Get In the Van" blog only once a day, usually overnight, then sends out e-mail to subscribers the next morning. Therefore, any new posts will not arrive in e-mail form until the day after they are posted.
Most information posted on the blog is not time-critical, so this schedule is generally adequate. However, it has been brought to our attention that the delivery service cancellation alerts do not arrive until the next day. This is normal, but confusing.
Whenever SCLS Delivery cancels routes, we send out e-mails to all affected customers based on our primary contact lists. This is our main method of getting the word out. The blog postings are intended as a back-up to this system for people who may not be able to check e-mail that day, but who can still get to a web browser. In order to get the latest information, one would need to manually navigate to the blog itself to see the most recent postings.
If you would like to be added to the contact e-mail list for your stop, you can contact me via this form: http://app.formassembly.com/forms/view/2798. We do our best to keep our lists up-to-date, since you never know when we'll have to cancel a route due to weather, van problems, etc. (though hopefully we are finally out of the woods for this winter!).
Please contact me if you have any questions or need clarification on any of this information.
