What's ARRT, you ask? It's the Adult Reading Round Table founded by librarians in Illinois. I first heard about ARRT from Becky Spratford from RA for All and have been following them on Twitter for a while. on While ARRT is Illinois-based organization, attendance at ARRT events and membership in the organization is open to any public librarian.
In November, ARRT is hosting ARRTCon which is an all-day RA conference. The day kicks off with Rebecca Vnuk, Executive Director of LibraryReads, who will talk about Librarians as Influencers. Then you can choose from a variety of breakout sessions including topics like Genre 101, New Way RA, #OwnVoices for All Readers, Large Scale Book Based Programming, and more. Author Gabino Iglesias will speak on I Don't See Race, I Only Care About the Story and Other Polite Microagressions. Lunch and other fun things included, too.
See the registration form and website for more information and to register. SCLS member public libraries can use CE Grant funds to attend.
