Bloglines tip: avoid repeats

Ever get deja-vu when checking your Bloglines account? And not just for those seemingly endless "five things" memes that go around every so often?

Posts can reappear for many reasons, including small edits by the author, republished feeds, and other hiccups. I found that changing how Bloglines treats updated items cuts out 90% of re-posts, most of which I'm happy to miss. Here's how:

  1. While viewing the feed in the right pane, click "edit subscription" above the feed title.

    Blogsub
  2. Choose "Ignore" next to "Updated Items."
    Blogsub2
  3. Save changes, and you're good to go.

Thanks for the tip. I sometimes wonder if I'm going a bit crazy when checking Bloglines. Didn't I already read this someplace?
