Seed Library Learning Sessions
Session 1: Informational Session & Seed Starting, March 20th, 10am or March 23rd, 6:30pm
Join us for an informational session on seed starting and seed saving. If you find yourself wanting to participate, stay and check out tomato and pepper seeds to get started and take home with you! Registration required.
Session 2: Soil Preparation & Direct Sowing, April 17th, 10am or April 20th, 6:30pm
Come learn how to prepare your garden soil, directly sow your seeds, initial seedling care and beyond. Learn how to harvest and save your own seeds. Bean and pea seeds will be checked out at this time. Registration required.

Tired of winter??? Had enough of the snow and cold? Need to warm up?
Come and join us as we will be taking a virtual Garden Walk to view a video of about 2 hours narrated by Alan Titchmarsch.
16 lesser known gardens of different sizes with wonderful ideas to get you to start thinking about spring and creating your own secret garden. Some plants you will recognize and others may pique your interest to try and find them. Light refreshments will be served during an intermission.

Patrons of The Lester Public Library of Vesper will be able to access their favorite digital magazines using Flipster™ from EBSCO Information Services beginning Jan. 1, 2015. Flipster is a next-generation digital magazine service that allows people to browse the latest issues of high quality digital versions of popular magazines, courtesy of the library.
In addition to hardcopy titles available in the library, The Lester Public Library of Vesper has Flipster versions of magazines so patrons have the option of accessing the content at the library or remotely. Magazines can be downloaded to iPads or iPad Minis via a native app for offline reading anytime, anywhere. Also, magazines can be viewed in mobile and desktop browsers.
Flipster offers an easy, browseable reading experience. Users can browse magazines by category as well as perform searches for specific periodicals. An online newsstand provides a carousel of the most recent issues, as well as a carousel of all issues allowing for quick access to magazines. The table of contents contains links to quickly go to articles of interest and hotlinks within magazines are hyperlinked, opening in separate tabs when clicked. In addition, there is an option to zoom in and out for better readability.
