The library would like to take a moment to recognize Marvin Kohls for his donation of several pieces of Vesper's historical Silo Company. He collected these silo wrenches, placed them on the plaque and gave them to library so our community can enjoy a piece of our village's history. A thank you also goes out to the anonymous person who made the frame for the plaque so it can be hung securely to the history meeting room wall.

Two area writers, Sylvia Oberle and Kristine Rued-Clark, have collaborated to produce a book about their experiences in walking Wisconsin’s Ice Age Trail, a 1,000 mile footpath that traverses the state from St. Croix Falls in the west, to Sturgeon Bay in the east. The trail, one of eight National Scenic Trails, traces the edges of the final glaciation in Wisconsin more than 10,000 years ago.
Adventures on Wisconsin’s Ice Age Trail, Day Hikes, Weekend Jaunts, and Family Vacations, combines elements of a guide book with personal essays and is illustrated throughout with full-color photographs. Armchair travelers and outdoor enthusiasts get an up-close and personal look at the Ice Age Trail.
Oberle and Rued-Clark have highlighted a dozen segments of the trail with a few different suggested options of varying lengths for each segment; and they share their own experiences on these segments. Several poems inspired by the trail are also included. This 128-page book is sure to bring happy recollections to those who have walked the trail and to inspire a new generation of Ice Age Trail enthusiasts.
The themes have been selected and the planning has begun! Stop by the library to pick up a bookmark and see what exciting things we'll be reading, singing and crafting about, or check our Facebook page for the current week's theme.
