Sullivan Award

To run effective programs, youth services librarians in public libraries need the support of their supervisors and directors.  The Sullivan award highlights the important role administrators play in support of public library service to children.

Deadline extended for Sullivan Award!

The Sullivan Award is an annual award consisting of a commemorative gift
and a 24k gold-framed citation presented to an individual who has shown

Ideas Needed for The 2007 Manual "Get A Clue"

Patti Sinclair who edits the CSLP manual has sent a request asking for some
good ideas for school visit presentations for the 2007 children's manual.

"I need some clues! I've lost the scent! I've run into a dead end.  Too many
puzzles, codes, literary snoops and lost civilizations are rattling around
in my brain.Any ideas for skits, stories, jokes, a monologue, some fun
patter...,etc. that will entice young readers to the library next (2007)
summer  for 'Get a Clue @ Your Library.'"

send your ideas as soon as possible to Patti at:
trishsinclair@sbcglobal.net.

Homeschool article & resources

Even though the article is a few months old, I want to draw everyone’s attention to an August 2005 article from School Library Journal, "In a Class of Their Own," by Ann Slattery, which provides information about homeschooling for public librarians.  The article includes a booklist of books and web sites that provide current information about homeschooling.
